CHICAGO (AP) — Mayor Richard Daley wants Chicagoans to show they are revved up about the city's chance to host the 2016 Summer Olympics.
He's encouraging people to exhibit their support when the International Olympic Committee inspection team arrives in the Windy City on Thursday.
Daley is suggesting people make Chicago 2016 posters and hang them in their windows. He says they should visit the organizing committee's Web site and register their support or volunteer to work on the bid committee.
The IOC inspection team will be in Chicago until early next week to grade the city on its bid.
Chicago is competing with Rio de Janeiro, Tokyo and Madrid to host the games. The IOC is scheduled to visit those cities and make their decision in October.
