ZURICH (AP) — FIFA has warned Bosnia-Herzegovina and Poland they face being kicked out of the World Cup if their fans are involved in hooliganism again.
The world soccer governing body on Friday fined Bosnia's soccer federation $45,000 and Poland's federation $22,500 for hooliganism during qualifying on March 28.
FIFA said both teams could face "a points deduction or elimination" next time.
Bosnia fans interrupted a qualifier in Belgium for eight minutes by throwing flares on the field. A Bosnia fan also ran onto the field.
Poland fans threw flares on the field before a match in Northern Ireland and hurled objects at police.
Bosnia and Poland are attempting to qualify for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
