OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — An Oklahoma County judge has sentenced a Newalla man to 10 days of incarceration for killing a tame, white-tailed breeder deer named "Pretty Boy" while it was in a pen.

District Judge Jerry Bass ordered Justin Ray McDaniel on Wednesday to serve the sentence at a private lockup facility. Bass also put McDaniel on probation for 10 years and ordered him to pay $33,000 in restitution.

McDaniel pleaded guilty in November to grand larceny of exotic livestock and making a false statement at a hunter check station.

A prosecutor said the deer's owner, Mark Kwitowski, and breeder Mike Chain lost between $493,000 and more than $1.18 million in potential breeding income.

McDaniel told Bass he killed the buck in November 2008 to boost his ego.

He apologized to Kwitowski and Chain.
