BREAKING: CREIGHTON ASSISTANT COACH STEVE HUBER A FINALIST FOR WESTERN ILLINOIS WOMENS BASKETBALL VACANCY
And then there were two.
KHQA has learned that Creighton Assistant Coach Steve Huber, a Springfield Illinois native and Illinois State Grad, is the other previously "unknown" finalist in the Western Illinois Womens Basketball search. Quincy University Head Coach J.D. Gravina confirmed to KHQA on Friday that he was a finalist for the job and would be interviewed on Wednesday of this week.
Sources tell KHQA that Huber interviewed for job on Monday in Macomb. Huber, who has spent five years on the bench for the Blue Jays as an assistant, could not be reached for comment.
Huber's resume includes a five year stint as the head coach at Benedictine between 1994-1999. He also has Division One coaching experience as a former assistant at both Louisville and San Diego, and served a successful two year stint as Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at Central Missouri State.
