Before the conference tournament, the Quincy Lady Hawk softball team debuted at eighth in the regional rankings. A run to the championship game certainly helped the team's cause last week, and it has now paid off.
Char Obert's team is headed to the NCAA Tournament for the second year in a row and only the second time in program history at that. The Lady Hawks will face midwest regional host school Grand Valley State on May 13th in the double-elimination opener. Now that it's the second go-round for many of her players, coach Obert has her Lady Hawks' sites set a bit higher than before.
