Over the next three weeks, three powerhouses will enter MSHSAA District 11 play, but only two will get to the postseason. And anything could be possible during these final football weeks for Brookfield, Macon and Centralia.

For the second season in a row, Missouri Class 2, District 11 opens play with three undefeated state ranked teams in the mix. And under the current Show-Me State Playoff system, only two of those powerhouse squads will make the playoffs.

Welcome to the stark reality that pervades the District of Doom; an anguish not lost on the Brookfield Bulldogs, who were the odd man out last season thanks to the geographical misfortune of being lumped in with Centralia and Macon. Yet one taste of rejection, it turns out, was bad enough for Nile Thudium and his troops.
