For four decades, Dan Rouse was the quiet glue that kept Bomber Athletics running smoothly. Now his death leaves a great void in the Bomber community

It was one week ago that the Macomb Sports Community lost one of its most selfless contributors: long time Bomber and Western Illinois Equipment manager, statistician and all around good guy Dan Rouse to a heart attack. On Tuesday, friends and family gathered to remember a friend, one who spent 40 years behind the scenes keeping those programs running smoothly. Tuesday gave them the opportunity to share their thoughts on an unsung hero, the kind you can find in nearly every community but who too rarely get their due.
