BOWLING GREEN BOBCATS

Strengths: Defense, especially linebackers and secondary

Weaknesses: Youth, filling gaps on both lines

The Bobcats seem to handle whatever is thrown their way, so as they prepare for their third different coach in as many years, the expectations haven't changed. Jeff Gschwender already knows this group inside and out, having spent the past 5 years as an assistant coach. His goal now is to get his younger players conditioned for a Friday night atmosphere and life at the varsity level. Plenty of returners to help his cause, however, as Corey Brown and Malik McPike return in the secondary. The combo of James Burleson and Nick Stumbaugh at linebacker will also help alleviate the breaking in of new players. Senior Jed Niemeyer is the lone returner up front, but there's no shortage of candidates for who will join him this year.
