A WESTERN HAUL: EX-WEST HANCOCK STAR MARLEY HALL TRANSFERRING TO WIU

Fifteen months from now, Western Illinois Womens Basketball will have a decidedly more local flavor...

First it was a high profile transfer from ex-Canton star Tori Niemann. And now a second former KHQA Player of the Year winner in West Hancock product Marley Hall....

As KHQA first reported, Marley is transferring from Illinois State to Western where she will be eligible to join the Leathernecks for the 2013-2014 season. Marley started 31games for the Redbirds last season and averaged nearly 12 points per game. She also finished second on the team in rebounding.

Marty Hall, Marley's Father, tells KHQA that his daughter left ISU on good terms and that she was just looking to play in a style and a system that suited her better. Mr Hall also said that Marley "is really excited to play for Coach Gravina and a resurgent Western program." She will have two seasons worth of eligibility in Macomb.
