Mike Smith didn't let his small-town surroundings deter him from pursuing his dream, and he hopes to inspire others to do the same

By every statistical measure, Mike Smith is the greatest basketball player in Northeast Missouri history, ranked in the top 15 in every conceivable career category. And now that he has returned home from a 9-month stint playing professional ball in Germany, he's back at his alma mater teaching his passion and hoping to inspire youngsters in his community.
