Ex-Illini West Boss honored as one of the country's finest High School Football Coaches
Jim Unruh was honored as one of eight finalists for National High School Football Coach of the Year honors at a recent celebration in North Dakota.
UNRUH NAMED A FINALIST FOR NATIONAL FOOTBALL COACH OF THE YEAR AWARD
He's got more state championship rings than he has has fingers on one hand with which to wear them....
But Jim Unruh's already considerable Coaching Legacy received a rather considerable boost this month when he was recognized as one of eight finalists for the National High School Football Coach of the Year Award, which was bestowed this past week in North Dakota.
It is essentially a career achievement honor and one which the Illinois Football Coaches Association nominated the now retired Illini West Boss earlier this year.
And while Jim did not win the award....the experience was among the most humbling of his career.
