TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — After seven games as Florida State's head coach, Jimbo Fisher is making his mark on a program inherited from the iconic Bobby Bowden.

Fisher's changes have led the school to a 6-1 start this season that has the Seminoles ranked 16th nationally and sitting alone on top of its division in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

The Seminoles (6-1, 4-0 ACC) have been mostly all business on and off the field. Penalties are down and individual celebrations are gone lest a player incur the wrath of their coach, who holds dear both sportsmanship and the traditions of the game he loves.

Florida State returns to action at North Carolina State (5-2, 2-1) on Thursday night.
