High school wrestling, of all the sports we cover, is possibly the most predictable enterprise.

Most mat afficiandos can identify to a high probabilty, even before the season starts, four or five of the kids in every weight class who will be standing on the State podium at Season's End. Granted, you get a few wild cards now and then with underclassmen arriving ahead of schedule, but even those kids are somewhat known commodities from their Youth and Club days.

But a senior, who comes from off the grid, without supposed previous evidence of pedigree, to emerge as a legitimate State Championship Contender?

Well that simply doesn't happen in this day and age.....
