CEDAR CITY, UTAH (AP) -- Davis Baker scored 20 points and Geoff Payne added 19 points and 10 rebounds to lead Southern Utah to a 73-60 Summit League win over Western Illinois.

The Thunderbirds won at home for the first time this year.

David Jackson led Western Illinois with 17 points. Jerryck Owens-Murrey and David Nurse scored 12 and 10 points respectively.

Trailing 38-19, Western Illinois used a 13-5 run to open the second half and closed the gap to 11 points.

The Thunderbirds responded with an 11-2 spurt behind a Marek 3-pointer from the right wing and a couple fastbreak points.
