Keokuk All State Wide Receiver to play for the Bulldogs
KEOKUK ALL STATER COMMITS TO TRUMAN STATE
If Truman State Football Coach Shannon Currier has his way, the most prolific pair of wide receivers in Iowa History will be lining up for the Bulldogs in Kirksville for the next four years. KHQA has learned that Currier is already half way to his goal, having secured a commitment from Keokuk First Team All State selection Logan Granera. This past season, Granera snared 69 receptions for 1011 yards and nine touchdowns. He also doubled as a terrific defensive back and placekicker for the state champion Chiefs, connecting on 73 of his 77 PAT attempts. Granera is the second Chief to make his college pledge. Quarterback and reigning KHQA Player of the Year James Vandenberg has given his verbal to Iowa
KHQA has also learned that Truman State has offered James Hurt a full ride scholarship, which he adds to standing offers from Northwest Missouri State, and Missouri-Rolla. University of Iowa Assistant Coach Reese Morgan has asked Hurt to join the Hawkeyes this season as a preferred walk-on. Hurt still has visits set up with Iowa and Northern Iowa, which is expected to ultimately offer him a scholarship as well.
All State Keokuk Linebacker Cole Lockwood has also received a scholarship offer from Division Two Powerhouse Northwest Missouri State and may make a decison on that opportunity as early as this weekend.
