Flying embers spark fire on second barn

BURTON, ILL. -- Twenty to thirty firefighters are on the scene of a multiple barn fire 1/2 mile east of Burton, Illinois.

The fire is located at the Frericks residence.

Both the Tri-township and Payson/Fall Creek volunteer fire departments responded to the scene.

Because of the location fire crews are shuttling water to the scene from 1/2 mile away.

Tri-Township Assistant Fire Chief  Darren Smith said that one barn was already on fire when his crew arrived on scene.

Crews were able to save an adjacent barn but flying embers from the first fire started a second barn, full of round hay bales on fire.

As of this story no injuries have been reported.
