QUINCY, ILL. -- See an abundance of stray cats and kittens running around?

It's kitten season, a time when cats are reproducing like rabbits.

The Quincy Humane Society will offer discounted cat spays and neuters next week for anyone.

You don't have to live in Adams County.

On Thursday, May 31 only, female cats can be spayed for $20 and male cats can be neutered for $10.

The price includes vaccinations.

This price will be honored until all appointments are filled.

"There's a statistic out there that says if you leave one male and one female cat unfixed in seven years, you will have over 2 million animals," Lindsey Klobe with the Quincy Humane Society said.

Those interested are asked to call the Quincy Humane Society at (217) 223-8786.
