KHQA spoke with a Quincy native Monday evening who just moved to New York City a couple of months ago.

Emily Daniels still had power Monday evening, but she told KHQA that was a concern for her and her friends.

Daniels described her experience going to the grocery store Sunday afternoon before the city shut down the transit system.

"The line wrapped around the store," she said. "I think I stood in line for at least an hour and a half. It look a long time to get around the store to get water and stuff. They were completely out of baskets and carts when I came in. They  had one massive line. It was quite the operation."

Daniels described the people at the grocery store as a little panicky and cranky.

Now, she says it's just a wait and see game.

"We just don't know what to expect," Daniels said. "I'm just wondering how long I'm going to be here. How long my food's gonna last and the power on my phone."
