HANNIBAL, MO. -- Hannibal residents are looking forward to the first major winter snowstorm (they may be the only ones,) so they can participate in the first Hannibal Snowman Building Contest.
Families and individuals build a snowman in their own yard or in one of Hannibal's 25 parks and take a photo of it for judging.
This contest sponsored by the Hannibal Parks and Recreation Department will run through February 25, 2013. All entries should consist of a photograph of the snowman and must have at least one of the builders in the photo for scale.
Prizes will be awarded for biggest, most original and most Hannibal spirit. Those winners will be picked by Hannibal Mayor Roy Hark and Hannibal Park Board Members.
