Former Keokuk man faces drug and arson charges

KEOKUK, IOWA -- A former Keokuk man was arrested on felony drug and arson charges on December 27th.

Darrell Floyd Azbill, 44, was arrested in the 2700 block of Main Street in Keokuk.

Azbill faces a charge of manufacture of methamphetamine in excess of five grams second or subsequent offense a class B felony with a special enhancement. He also faces a charge of arson in the first degree, a class B felony.

The arrest stems from a suspicious house fire at 316 South 11th Street in Keokuk. The Lee County Narcotics Task Force was notified of the suspicious nature of the fire in which one person was severely injured. A search warrant was obtained and items in support of the charges were found.

If convicted, Azbill faces up to 100 years in a state correctional facility.
