QUINCY, ILL. -- A Quincy man with two warrants out for his arrest is in jail on a third set of charges.

Quincy police arrested 29-year-old James M. Altgilbers, of 531 Locust, Saturday. The search for Altgilbers originated with two warrants for aggravated assault and criminal damage from a Dec. 17 incident.

Saturday, police located him at an apartment, at 1405 North 6th St., and discovered a working methamphetamine lab inside.

Altgilbers was arrested on the warrant and officers obtained a search warrant for the apartment where he was found. During the search warrant, officers located and seized evidence that tested positive for methamphetamine. Officers also located methamphetamine making materials and methamphetamine waste.

Altgilbers was arrested for unlawful participation in methamphetamine production, a class C felony, and other meth related charges and was lodged in the Adams County Jail.

Assisting the Quincy Police Department with the investigation was the West Central Illinois Task Force and the Illinois State Police Meth Response Team.
