Quincy firefighters, police investigate vacant house fire

QUINCY, ILL. -- Fire investigators are looking into what caused a Lind St. home to go up in flames Saturday morning.

The home, at 1118 Lind St. was vacant at the time. The Quincy Fire Department responded to the two-alarm fire around 9:45 a.m. Firefighters say the home was engulfed upon their arrival.

The blaze damaged much of the first floor and what appeared to be a finished attic space.

The Quincy Police Department is also investigating the fire since the home had been vacant.

Investigators are trying to contact the owners of the home.
