Family of six arrested for making meth at home

An entire Bushnell family has been arrested for making meth at home.

After a three month investigation, the McDonough County Sheriff's Department executed a search warrant at the Raines family home at 793 North Sperry Street in Bushnell early Sunday morning.

There officers say they found and seized seven “Shake and Bake” methamphetamine labs, stripped lithium batteries, sulfuric acid, ammonia nitrate, lye, Coleman fuel, iodized salt, packaging materials, digital scales with suspect Methamphetamine residue, empty packages of Pseudoephedrine, 25 grams of cannabis, numerous paraphernalia items and approximately 800 dollars in cash.

Deputies arrested Virgil Raines, 50; Brenda Raines, 50; and Travis Raines, 22 at the home.

Travis R. Raines has been charged with manufacture/delivery of controlled substance, conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine, procurement of methamphetamine precursors, unlawful disposal of methamphetamine waste and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Brenda J. Raines has been charged with manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance, conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine, unlawful disposal of methamphetamine waste, possession of methamphetamine under 5 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Virgil H. Raines, age 50, faces charges of unlawful disposal of methamphetamine waste, conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine, procurement of methamphetamine precursors, possession of cannabis 10-30 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The sheriff’s department says three other members fo the Raines family were arrested in Macomb, including: Daniel Raines, age 26; Timothy Raines, age 23; and Tiffany Raines, age 21.

A follow up investigation resulted in the February 24th arrests of Daniel A. Raines, age 26, was arrested in Macomb and charged with unlawful disposal of methamphetamine waste, manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance and procurement of methamphetamine precursors.

Timothy A. Raines, age 23, was arrested in Macomb and charged with conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine and procurement of methamphetamine precursors.

Tiffany L. Raines, age 21, was arrested in Macomb and charged with conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine and procurement of methamphetamine precursors.

Serena F. Parker, age 32, was arrested in Industry and charged with conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine and procurement of methamphetamine precursors.

Ambria L. Jones, age 22, was arrested at the McDonough County Sheriff’s Office and charged with unlawful disposal of methamphetamine waste, conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine and procurement of methamphetamine precursors.

All of the subjects were lodged in the McDonough County Jail awaiting their first court appearance.

The investigation was conducted by the McDonough County Sheriff’s Office, Bushnell and Macomb Police. The search warrant and follow up investigation was executed by Bushnell, Macomb, Colchester and Blandinsville Police, McDonough County Sheriff’s Deputies, Illinois State Police Tactical Response Team and Illinois State Police Methamphetamine Response Team.
