Hancock County Sheriff's Department needs your help

HANCOCK COUNTY, ILL. -- The Hancock County Sheriff's Office confirmed that the body pulled from the Mississippi River Wednesday was that of a missing Henry County, Iowa woman. Click here for the newest details.

The Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of the white female after she was found floating in the river.

Hancock County Sheriff Scott Bentzinger says a local resident spotted a body floating in the river about three and a half miles north of Hamilton, Ill. around 3:15 p.m. Wednesday.

Bentzinger says the body is now believed to be that of a missing 45-year-old woman of Fairfield, Iowa. She was reported missing in Henry County, Iowa on February 15, 2013. The name is being withheld pending notification of family.

An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday.

Anyone with any information is asked to call the Hancock County Sheriff's Office at (217) 357-2115.

The case remains under investigation.
